Our Amazon Labor Union-KCVG Constitution was drafted and democratically adopted by hundreds of KCVG workers, following input from more than 500 workers.

Summary of our constitution

Union Purpose

The purpose of our union is to fight for the interests of all KCVG workers and use our collective power to win better wages and working conditions at KCVG.

Membership and Democracy

Union membership is the highest authority in ALU-KCVG. Union members shall have the right to vote on all major decisions.

Union Leadership

Union members will elect an Executive Council. Leaders and staff will receive no more than the average wage of a KCVG worker. By majority vote, union members will have the right to recall elected union leaders as well as override any leadership decisions deemed unsatisfactory.

Dues and Finances

Union dues will be $30 per month, prorated for reduced and part-time workers, and only begin after members have ratified a contract. The union will operate with full financial transparency.

Bargaining

Union bargaining teams will be elected by the members, with representation from every department and shift, and any member may observe bargaining at any time. There shall be no back-room negotiations.
