Union rally and family day brings out 200 to support our campaign!
Last month, workers from KCVG were joined by family and friends, faith and community organizations, and more than 17 local unions to celebrate the campaign to unionize Amazon.
The event was joyful, multi-lingual, and showed the diverse communities that our coworkers at KCVG represent. Food was provided by Taqueria Ramirez and East African Restaurant, and we were treated to a dance performance by Ghanian dance troupe Bi-Okoto.
The entire community showed up to say that what happens at KCVG matters for everyone.
We heard from the wife of an organizing committee member who explained that winning 180 hours of PTO would mean her husband could spend more time with her and their two kids.
We heard from members of the Kentucky African Women's Association who described how essential it is for all workers, regardless of language or background, to fight hand in hand for a union.
The event was such an inspiration and we're excited to continue to bring our coworkers together to fight for the workplace we deserve.
